Instagram, the free photo sharing app for the iPhone and Android, is one of the most popular apps in the market place today (and the app I am constantly checking on my iPhone). Launched in 2010 by Kevin Systrom and Mike Krieger, Instagram immediately took of, capturing the public’s attention by being an easy way to upload pictures. What some people call the “Twitter of pictures”, Instagram is great to use on the go. You take a picture of something cool, and BOOM, you get to share it immediately with your friends. As an avid Instagram user, I have been obsessed since day one. Although I tend to just “follow” people that I know, it’s so fun to see what sort of pictures my friends are posting throughout the day! Today is officially the first day of summer! For some people this means fun in the sun, however, for most of us it means absolutely nothing. Along with the rest of the working world, I will be hanging out inside my office Monday-Friday waiting for the weekends all summer long! As a recent college grad out on my own, I have found that supporting myself has led to cutting what my parents would call “unnecessary expenditures” from my budget. Being a lover of clothes, shoes and purses, it has been sad to quit my weekly trips to Nordstrom. I have come to find that even a simple item one would deem a necessity, such as toilet paper, has been difficult to purchase if I am not able to find a good deal. Luckily for me and other recent grads, who somehow still seem to pay his or her smartphone bill while eating Top Ramen every night, there are apps (free!) that can help us search for the cheapest purchases possible.
