I’m one of the crazy Black Friday shoppers. I must be honest … I absolutely love the experience. For me, it’s fun to be packed in with loads of people, all hunting for the best deals. For me, the event essentially kick-starts my holiday season.
A Consumer Electronics Association (CEA) report estimates that 118 million Americans will purchase goods between Thanksgiving and today, Cyber Monday. CEA found that approximately 48 percent of all consumers will buy one or more consumer electronic device throughout the weekend. This is slightly less than 60 percent who planned to buy clothes during the same time. The CEA’s annual CE Holiday Purchase Patterns study shows, however, that consumers (on average) will spending a record high of $246 dollars on CE gifts this holiday season – up 6 percent from 2010. Also notable: Nearly 46 percent of Americans purchased their CE devices online.
So what devices did consumers buy? In order of popularity, consumers purchased digital cameras, video game consoles, accessories such as cables and cases, TVs, notebook computers, smartphones, MP3 players, eBook readers and tablet computers.
How did you spend your Black Friday? Tucked in bed … or waiting in long lines like me? You still have time to claim the hottest electronics at some amazing deals. Better get online and shop today!
